The 2026 Formula 1 season is already on the horizon, and you know what? Red Bull F1 has once again generated buzz even before the engines roar. With their event in Detroit, they revealed their livery (literally), but the big question remains… where’s the car? Because, of course, pre-release appearances always have an air of mystery. And it’s well known that Red Bull is an expert at creating anticipation…

What they’re up to

First things first: the presentation. Instead of being just another event—between soporific speeches and augmented reality—Red Bull put all their effort into making it memorable. But it seems to me that, with so much showmanship, there were moments when they almost lost the audience.

That said, when Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar finally revealed the new livery… what a moment! It’s like that moment at a birthday party when they show you the cake; exciting even though there are no surprises.

Let’s get serious for a second: anything new always attracts curious glances. This year they’ve decided to maintain a consistent approach with their previous designs (the orange, dark blue, and white are familiar to us). But… the curious thing here is how this “traditional” approach might affect their performance… Why keep repeating winning formulas? Perhaps it’s because they know exactly what works, or maybe they’re afraid to stray from the established path.

This brings us to one of those interesting points—engine development—since Red Bull now has Ford as a strategic partner for its power units. This move makes perfect sense considering American automotive history and how it fits perfectly with the bold spirit of Red Bull Racing. CEO Laurent Mekies mentioned something key about this project: “It’s the result of a joint effort.” Which makes me wonder… will this support be enough to compete head-to-head against Mercedes or Ferrari?

A Generational Shift Behind the Wheel

We can’t ignore the drivers… oh yes, Max Verstappen remains an unstoppable force, but there’s also room for new talents like Isack Hadjar. Their combination could be explosive—and not just because of the team’s numbers—because while one is looking to further solidify his position (which is saying something), the other aspires to make his mark from his professional debut.

With ‘Checo’ Pérez Under Scrutiny

And of course, we also have the beloved Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, who must face personal challenges in addition to pure performance on the track. The pressure grows every year due to expectations; perhaps it will give him that spark needed to shine, or it might cause him to falter just before the next race. Can you imagine a season without knowing if he’ll be fighting for podiums or once again teetering on those dreaded boundaries between success and disappointment?

My Personal Analysis

I sincerely believe this new phase presents golden opportunities but also significant challenges for Red Bull F1… If they manage to balance all these expectations and technological implementations, they could dominate even further—but remember—this is Formula 1; you can never take anything for granted or underestimate historic rivals. From this perspective, I sincerely believe they are aiming high again, although… there are never any complete guarantees; every race can bring exciting surprises.
